STRATEGIC SOURCING |
|
|
Strategic sourcing goes beyond
purchase of materials. It is the
systematic process that directs the
organisation to plan, manage and
develop a supply base in line with the
objectives of the organisation. |
Consolidation is one of the levers of
strategic sourcing. It is a proven
strategy and we increasingly use it
so that we don't end up buying from too
many different suppliers. Fewer
suppliers lead to fewer transactions,
which results in less energies being
spent on supplier management and
monitoring. This helps curb costs,
waste, and risk. While we are reducing
our number of suppliers, we are
enhancing the due diligence necessary
to empanel them. |
