At our unit Formulations Hyderabad Plant 2, the process effluent generated during the cleaning of machines that manufacture Dipyrodamol (DIPY) had high Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), and Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD). Not only did the effluent contain chemical content beyond the statutory limits, it was also eroding the RO membranes. It was imperative to find a permanent solution to this issue. |
In January 2015, we installed an Ozonation System at the Wastewater Treatment Plant to treat this high-pollution load influent. |

Post ozonation, the effluent is treated at the Wastewater Treatment Plant and the resultant discharge easily meets the statutory levels. |
