We are also a part of the CII Green Business Centre and actively support CII's Green Industry rating program that evaluates companies on their environmental performance. A pilot has been initiated for 'Green Industry Rating' in two of our units: API Hyderabad Plant 2 has already been assessed by CII for certification under Green Company Rating System and awarded the Bronze Rating; Formulations Hyderabad Plant 3 unit is in the process of being assessed.     Some of the key initiatives undertaken at various units to reduce emissions are described below:       Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Ambient Air Quality monitoring systems were installed in three locations of Formulations Hyderabad Plant 2. They enable us to continuously monitor ambient air quality within the factory premises without the help of external agencies. Mechanisation of ATFD Salts Handling A conveyor system was installed to handle ATFD salts. The packed ATFD salts were directly loaded into containers provided by TSDF to avoid the emissions.     Multistage Scrubbers Multistage scrubbers with an online pH monitoring system were installed in the process area, on MEE vents and on AFTD vents to curb emissions. Hoods for Effluent Storage Tanks To manage emissions from effluent tanks, they were covered by hoods and the vents were connected to the multistage scrubber in which sodium hypo chlorate was used as a scrubbing media.   Minimising Fugitive Emissions ­ The following steps were taken to minimise fugitive emissions: Closed operation of centrifuges Closed chemicals charging Closed handling of solvents Tailor-made packing for hazardous chemicals       Piian Odor Neutraliser in ETP Area Piian Odor Neutraliser is a completely safe industrial odour control agent made using all natural ingredients. When atomised, it immediately destroys common odours associated with wastewater treatment (sewage) and solid waste (garbage) and many other industrial and commercial operations.   It meets EPA and USDA guidelines. In the secondary operation the proprietary components of Piian act as a catalyst to accelerate the natural biodegradation of the emission compound into water and carbon dioxide.
