SOCIAL PERFORMANCE
PATIENT CARE
Our patient care initiatives focus on providing comprehensive medical services, tackling special needs, spreading strategic disease awareness and organising frequent health camps.
Cancer Care
Our programmes range from awareness to prevention and from treatment to psychological support, for patients and their families.
Awareness and Support Programmes
PromOTE India
Our 'Promotion of Oncology Training and Education in India' (PromOTE India) programme serves a three-pronged purpose - it sensitises people, facilitates early detection and enables prompt diagnosis of cancer. It operates in collaboration with the Indian Cooperative Oncology Network (ICON).

Lymphoma Awareness Campaign
Our Oncology Team continues to conduct lymphoma awareness campaigns under the aegis of Continuing Medical Education (CME) at various places across the country, with active participation of eminent oncologists and physicians.
To date, a number of lymphoma awareness meetings have been conducted for primary physicians empowering them to become a single point of contact for the diagnosis of lymphoma.

Treatment Interventions
Sparsh
Sparsh aims to make cancer treatment more accessible to the underprivileged.
Currently, it operates in six metros and efforts are underway to open more centres in diverse geographies to broad-base effective and affordable cancer treatment.

'Rang Day' for Cancer
Affected Children
Rang Day is our way of celebrating
Children's Day to bring joy to cancer-
affected children. For the last eight
years, our Oncology India team has
been organising Rang Day, which
includes a painting competition, a magic
show, a fancy dress competition,
singing and dance performances, and
tattoo art making. Celebrities, such as director Anurag Basu and noted actor Ranbir Kapoor, have also participated in
the event.

Mitr Counselling
Launched in 2008, Dr. Reddy's Mitr offers psychological counselling and emotional support to patients and their relatives, for dealing with the physiological effects of cancer. It also provides tips on self-care and adherence to regimens.

Step Up
Step Up is a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme conducted for health professionals involved in chemotherapy care. During the reporting period, several training programmes were organised across India.

Disha
Disha provides access to RedituxTM therapy for lymphoma patients. The programme extends diagnostic support on the basis of doctors' recommendations and subsidises detection charges for tumour markers known as lymphoma panel. The outcomes are shared with the patient and the doctor concerned.

Lifestyle Diseases
Lifestyle diseases pose a health risk to one out of four Indians. With our changing lifestyle and dietary habits, these non-communicable diseases are an equal reality for the people of big cities, smaller towns and low-income groups. To address this challenge, we continue to intervene through the following programmes:

Healthy Beats
Healthy Beats is an initiative to identify and address the issue of non-communicable
diseases in rural India. Locals are selected as health ambassadors and trained to
spearhead health awareness in their respective areas. They identify patients with
chronic diseases such as blood pressure, diabetes and anaemia, and motivate and
counsel them to seek proper treatment.
In the reporting period, the focus was on detection of early hypertension - a silent
condition which can cause complications like coronary heart diseases (CHD) and stroke.

Roshni
Roshni, a diabetes awareness and
screening programme, helps early
detection and effective management of
diabetes. Several diabetes diagnosis
camps are organised in small towns as
well as larger cities.

Another intervention undertaken towards hypertension was 'Education Before Medication'. In this programme launched on World Heart Day (September 29), each Product Support Representative (PSR) spends at least one hour daily at a clinic, and explains the outcomes of non-adherence to medication and the importance of taking anti-hypertensives regularly, to patients. PSRs are equipped with specially designed educational material, such as visual aids and leaflets, to help spread awareness and educate people.
Studies suggest that the blood pressure of more than half of the hypertensive patients is inadequately controlled. To address this gap, 'leaders at heart patient connect' has been initiated. This programme is being managed by a third party agency, where professionals connect with the patients through telephone and SMS, and help them to improve their treatment adherence and hence manage their blood pressure more effectively.

Chronic Kidney Disease
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is growing at an alarming rate due to uncontrolled hypertension and diabetes, sedentary lifestyles and lack of awareness of the disease. Dr. Reddy's has been actively working towards spreading CKD awareness and combating this issue.

Aashayein

'Aashayein' is a platform that brings patients together to share their real life stories and experiences. Nephrologists and dieticians shed light on topics such as, knowing about transplant, tasty diet on dialysis, leading a positive life while on dialysis and making dialysis, a small part of their life.

CHEER
Committed to Help, Educate and Encourage Renal Patients (CHEER) is an endeavour to handhold CKD patients during their journey through tough times and ensure that they comply with the therapy.

Patients enrolled in the programme are provided regular health tips, diet advisories and dose reminders. Their haemoglobin levels are also measured at regular intervals and the data is reported to the doctor to track a patient's progress.
