Overview
We have expedited our waste management efforts across the spectrum including design, manufacturing and safe disposal.
We are increasingly using Green Chemistry at the design stage to reduce or eliminate waste right at the source, and continually improving our processes to prevent waste generation and encourage its reuse, recycling, and responsible disposal.
Our Waste Management Hierarchy
Hazardous Waste
Waste Description Generated from Reuse/Recycle/Disposal
Waste oil & Used oil Utilities Reuse - Authorised oil re-processers
Used lead acid batteries Utilities Reuse - Returned to manufacturer
Spent catalyst Manufacturing Reuse - Returned to manufacturer for recovery
Detoxified containers Manufacturing Reuse - To authorised agencies
Process organic residues Manufacturing Recycled in cement plants to use as Auxiliary fuel
Spent carbon Manufacturing Repurposed in cement plants as Auxiliary fuel
Spent acids/ Spent caustic Manufacturing Recycled through authorised agencies
Discarded & off specification medicines Manufacturing Offsite incineration
Forced evaporation mixed salts Effluent treatment Disposed in secured landfill
ETP Sludge Effluent Treatment Disposed in secured landfill
Incinerator Ash Incineration Disposed in secured landfill

Non-hazardous Waste
Waste Description Generated from Reuse/Recycle/Disposal
Garden waste Gardening Recycle - Composting
Canteen waste Canteen Recycle - Composting
Boiler ash Utilities Recycling through brick manufacture
Office paper waste Office Recycling through ITC-WOW
