Some of the key mechanisation initiatives at Dr. Reddy's which resulted in efficiency improvement, cost reduction, safety enhancement, energy conservation and elimination of human intervention are as follows:   Manual handling of the solvent drum got eliminated by setting up dedicated pipeline Shipper conveying and palletising system was introduced for enhanced safety Electronically controlled motors were installed for reliable and energy efficient air handling Automated HVAC, BMS and EMS were introduced for compliance with GMP & GEP safety and conservation of energy Automation of layer separation led to savings of man hours. It also eliminated carry-over of impurity or any loss of reaction mass, due to manual operational errors       Auto bundling and collation of blister cartons was done to reduce material usage, increase productivity and line balancing Robotic case packer was installed for high speed production, elimination of fatigue & slower production of manual operations Spin flow bowl technology was introduced for Fluid Bed Dryer to reduce drying time, improve process performance and eliminate racking process         Product inspection was automated for greater efficiency Integrated Building System was introduced at SEZ for HVAC automation and access control, fire alarm and utility management, monitoring of environmental, electrical and UPS parameters, and closed circuit cameras
