Reduction of our environmental footprint has been pushed up on our priority list and large impact interventions such as solvent recovery and closed- loop production systems have been put in place. Driving our environmental agenda are two principles.   Good health is impossible without clean water, clean air and a healthy soil.     Conservation of natural resources and elimination of waste, boost productivity and strengthen the economic bottom line.   Environment Overview Good environment is a necessity to nurture good health. Hence we put environment sustainability at the centre of all our business processes and products. This facilitates good health among our stakeholders and, not to mention, a healthy balance sheet for us. We set ourselves ambitious environmental goals that go beyond statutory requirements and back them up with strategic investments in talent and equipment. We regularly conduct plant audits to evaluate performance vis-à-vis these targets, and plug gaps if any. During the reporting period we enhanced the share of clean energy in our energy mix, designed energy efficient plants, consolidated our cooling towers and augmented our bottom line harvesting capacity. We progressed on our roadmap at a steady clip and are on-course in five out of the total six commitments. Our environment investment almost doubled in FY15 to ₹621 million from ₹327 million in FY14.
