Minimising the Packaging
Material Rejections |
In our Formulations Hyderabad Plant 3, packing material
consumption per year was ₹171 million, which was 25% higher
for foils and 3.5% for bottles than the standard quantity. By
considering standard loss of 10% for foils and 0.5% for bottles,
there was scope for reduction in cost by ₹13.9 million per annum. |
Standardised percentage issuance of packaging material - foils
and bottles - was implemented for top runner products. PRIMO
was introduced for reducing vendor related quality issues of
incoming packing material and strict monitoring was flagged off in collaboration with product owners. The combined result of these interventions was an estimated annual saving of ₹8.9 million. |
